This MR license will allow you to drive a vehicle with 2 axles and no greater than 15 tonnes.

    This means that you are able to drive the following vehicles:

    • two axle trucks,
    • tippers,

    What is required before you can get your MR License in SA?

    If you hold a current driver’s license and meet the minimum driving experience requirements for the desired license class, you can drive a motor vehicle of that class without a learner’s permit – but only under learner’s permit conditions and laws.

    If you have a medical condition that may affect your ability to safely operate a motor vehicle e.g. diabetes, epilepsy, eyesight disorder etc, regardless of whether you have previously advised the Registrar of Motor Vehicles of the condition, you may be required to provide a Certificate of Fitness to confirm that you meet the medical standards needed to hold a heavy vehicle license.

    What can I drive with an MR Class Licence in Adelaide / Australia?

    The MR Licence allows you to drive everything listed in the LR licence as well as a 2 axle truck. and a weight of up to 15 tonnes. this means you will be able to drive such vehicles as:
    Buses
    Trucks
    Vans
    Tippers

    In detail this means you can drive the following:

    A motor vehicle with 2 axles and a Gross Vehicle Mass greater than 8 tonne (e.g. two axle trucks, tippers and buses).
    A motor vehicle included in 2 towing a single trailer (other than a semi-trailer) with a Gross Vehicle Mass not greater than 9 tonne, subject to the combination mass limits fixed under the Heavy Vehicle National Law (South Australia).
    A special purpose vehicle with 2 axles and a Gross Vehicle Mass greater than 8 tonne or 3 or more axles and a GVM not greater than 15 tonne
