    Comprehensive LR Truck Driving Assessments

At Tokhi Driving Solutions, we provide two pathways for obtaining your LR truck license, tailored to fit your needs and the resources available at the time of booking.

    Vehicle on Road Test (VORT)

The VORT option consists of a single, pass/fail assessment conducted after completing your training. It includes a 6.5-7 hour warm-up session, followed by the test, which typically lasts an additional 1.5 hours. This option is ideal for confident drivers who prefer a structured evaluation.

    Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBT&A)

The CBT&A approach integrates ongoing assessments throughout the training program. This method allows for re-training and re-assessment of any errors, ensuring that you gain the necessary skills at your own pace. With our experienced and accredited trainers guiding you every step of the way, you can feel confident about mastering the requirements.

    LR Truck License Course Requirements

Before enrolling in the LR Truck Driving Course, make sure you meet the following prerequisites:

If you meet the minimum driving experience for the LR class, you can drive vehicles under learner permit conditions without needing a learner’s permit.

    Medical Requirements

Drivers with medical conditions such as diabetes, epilepsy, or eyesight disorders may need to provide a Certificate of Fitness. Depending on the condition, a clearance from a specialist may also be required to confirm your ability to operate a heavy vehicle safely.

Tokhi Driving Solutions ensures transparency and professionalism throughout this process. Our team provides clear guidance on documentation and fitness requirements to streamline your licensing journey.

What can I drive on a LR class licence?

Earning an LR license through Tokhi Driving Solutions enables you to operate a variety of vehicles, including:

Vehicles in the preceding license class (Class C).

Vehicles with a gross vehicle mass (GVM) of over 4.5 tonnes and up to 8 tonnes, such as trucks, vans, and tippers.

Buses designed to carry 13 or more seated passengers, provided their GVM does not exceed 8 tonnes.

Motor vehicles towing a single trailer, as long as the overall mass complies with Gross Combination Mass (GCM) limits set by the Road Traffic Act or the Heavy Vehicle National Law (South Australia).

You may also tow farm implements and other trailers, provided they meet the required combination mass limits of the towing vehicle.

    Carrying Your License

Drivers must carry either a physical driver’s license or a valid digital license when operating any vehicle exceeding a 4.5-tonne GVM. At Tokhi Driving Solutions, we emphasise compliance with legal requirements to keep you road-ready and confident.
